Explorers Director: Kristin Riffe, Certified and Experienced Elementary Teacher and Homeschool Mom
Our Explorers are our 2nd – 4th* graders. For this age group, our main goal is to help our children revel in the excitement of learning and to give them classroom experience and practice in cooperation and listening skills!
The Explorer day, which runs from 11:30 – 2:30, includes science, unstructured play on the playground, art, and structured play. Students need to eat lunch before they come to class. (Since our 5th grade and up group starts at 11:00, parents with children in both groups, might want to pack a lunch for themselves and younger children and eat at the park after dropping off older siblings.) Pathfinders and Explorers will not be lunching or snacking in class. Any group celebrations will be food-free. (Parents may want to bring a snack for students to eat in the car or the park after pick up).
The fee for our Explorer program is $125 per child per semester, plus a $10 supply fee.
Our Explorer program is a drop-off program although each parent will be assigned a day or two to stay and assist.
*In fall 2022, our elementary program will also include 5th graders. Students who are in fourth grade for the 2021-22 school year will stay in the elementary program next year as our older program transitions to a middle school and high school program. At that point, our 4th and 5th graders will get a fun new name as our oldest elementary group!
